(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has released drone and body-worn camera footage from an officer-involved shooting, during which 40-year-old Benjamin Greenfield allegedly shot at officers and was killed when officers returned fire.
According to CSPD, around 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, officers and a deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) on the Metro Division Task Force spotted a pickup truck in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant near North Academy Boulevard and Galley Road. CSPD said both the truck and its driver, identified as Greenfield, were known to police, and were suspected to have been involved in recent criminal activity, including distribution of narcotics and fleeing from officers.
