Skewers in Spokane closes for Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

SPOKANE, Wash. – Skewers Armenian Restaurant announced on Friday that the restaurant would be closed in observance of Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.

“On this day in 1915, Turkey began a calculated and sinister campaign to exterminate the Armenian race,” a spokesperson for the restaurant said. “Over 1.5 million lives were lost. Many more, displaced. Families, culture, and identity were targeted.”
