BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — After a busy weather setup earlier this week the pattern will get back to active this weekend.
The next area of low pressure will work into southcentral California from the west/southwest on Saturday. This one may have less in the way of dynamics and atmospheric volatility compared to Tuesday’s system, but it does appear that it will pull up enough moisture and that combined with a favorable jet stream placement could lead to increasing shower development, particularly during the afternoon and overnight period.
In addition, it would not be out of the question to see some isolated thunderstorm activity as well, due to the subtropical moisture and upper atmospheric lift trajectory.
A lot of the computer charts are indicating that the highest rainfall totals will be most likely across our mountains, but all areas will have a chance of periodically wet weather…
