Criminal enterprise leader sentenced in Boston

BOSTON, MA — The leader of a violent criminal enterprise that operated in Hampden County was sentenced Friday in federal court for directing the trafficking of large amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine throughout Western Massachusetts, as well as for possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Vicente Gonzalez, 45, of Springfield, was sentenced by U.S. Senior District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton to 220 months in prison to be followed by four years of supervised release.
