COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Southside neighbors are getting their first look at what could be built at McCoy Park after the city approved bringing a new National Women’s Soccer League team to Columbus.
Preliminary plans from the city’s Department of Building and Zoning show initial designs for the Haslam Sports Group’s proposed training facility, including five soccer fields and a large parking lot along Harmon Avenue.
Columbus City Council on Monday approved $25 million in funding for a new training facility at McCoy Park, and upgrades to the existing ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, where the Crew plays, with private investors covering the remaining costs.
