Detroit Approves $1.2M Contract for Bus Tracking System To Fix App Issues

Detroit City Council gave the green light to a three-year deal worth $1.2 million. The contract will bring in a vehicle tracking system that promises to slash wait times at bus stops across the city. Software from Swiftly, Inc. should go live within 30 days, according to Bridge Detroit.

The vote happened just one day after Detroit Department of Transportation Director Robert Cramer spoke to the council’s Public Health and Safety committee. He explained that rider complaints about bad real-time predictions sparked this move.
