LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – No one ever expects a visit to a convenience store will change the course of their life. However, about four years ago, that is exactly what happened to Olivia Barczynski outside a convenience store on 7th and Oak in Louisville.
A man Barczynski did not know stopped her to ask if she wanted to buy marijuana. When she told him no, he robbed her, pulled out a gun and shot her in the face.
Last year, that man, identified by police as D’Andre Swain, Jr., took a plea deal and was sentenced to 15 years for the shooting that nearly took Barczynski’s life…
