Folsom police break up $21K internal theft case at local Walmart

An investigation by the Folsom Police Department has resulted in the arrest of two men accused of working together in a series of thefts at a local Walmart, authorities said.

According to police, members of the department’s Special Investigations Unit received information in early April 2026 from Walmart’s Global Loss Prevention team regarding suspected internal theft at the Folsom store. Investigators reported that two employees were involved in 21 separate incidents, resulting in a confirmed loss exceeding $21,000.

Detectives initiated a follow-up investigation that included surveillance and a review of evidence. During the investigation, authorities determined that Dante Naples, 25, of Roseville, used the self-checkout area to appear as though he was scanning and paying for items before leaving the store without completing transactions.
