USDA shutting down Beltsville Research Center in Maryland

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KSNB) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is shutting down its largest research center in Beltsville, Maryland.

But the Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) in Clay Center, Nebraska, is expected to gain several employees as a result.

In a move that was first announced last summer, the USDA is shutting down the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC). The USDA website said that the research projects at BARC will move to other USDA offices around the country…
