Final April weekend brings the heat for Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Sunny skies and spring vibes intensify around Portland for the final weekend of April.

Spring conditions will be widespread as highs return to the low 70s on Saturday. Sunshine will be abundant, with coastal areas preparing for highs in the 60s. Seasonal temperatures are expected to last through the end of the weekend.

Not only is it the final weekend of April, but it’s the last weekend to enjoy Woodburn’s Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. The flowers may have a chance to pick up on a single sprinkle or two, move towards the start of next week.

Warmer temperatures and little moisture will help mountain snow quickly melt this weekend and will continue to do so through much of next week. This comes as drought conditions stretch across the state of Oregon.

Temperatures will return to seasonal highs with temperatures in the mid-60s on Sunday and Monday. Afternoon highs will quickly start to warm by the middle of next week. The peak of the heat is expected to occur on Wednesday, with temperatures returning to the mid-70s.
