2 teens injured in shooting on front porch of Akron home

CLEVELAND — Two teenage boys were taken to the hospital Friday with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening after being shot while on the front porch of an Akron home, police said.

According to a release from the Akron Police Department, officers were called to the area of West Salome Avenue near Carlysle Street just before 6 p.m. and found two 14-year-old boys inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. One teen was found near the front door after being shot in the chest, while the second victim was located in the living room with a gunshot wound to the pelvic area, police said.

Paramedics took both boys to a hospital, and they are expected to recover from their injuries…
