New York Gov. Kathy Hochul ordered flags at state government buildings to be lowered to half-staff until sunset April 25 in memory of retired environmental conservation police officer Ronald J. Bosela.
Bosela, a resident of Clarence in Erie County, died Feb. 27, 2026, from an illness linked to his work at the World Trade Center site following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“In responding to assist in the recovery at the World Trade Center after 9/11, Officer Bosela exhibited exemplary bravery and courage in service to our state and country,” Hochul said. “I offer my deep gratitude and appreciation for his service and extend my condolences to his family, colleagues, and all of those who knew him.”…
