Huntsville Utilities restores power after wreck cuts service to over 1,100 customers in Madison

UPDATE (3PM): Crews made repairs to the affected service line and a spokesperson tells FOX54 homes and businesses were back on the grid shortly before 3 p.m.

The afternoon outage cut service to homes and businesses north and south of I-565 between Wall-Triana Hwy. and Zierdt Road. Part of Town Madison is in the area, as is the Walmart Supercenter on Madison Blvd.

The City of Madison asked drivers to use caution in the area of Madison Blvd between Lanier and Hughes Road, where the loss of power caused a traffic signal outage. Treat intersections as four way stops or yield to officers directing traffic in the intersections…
