Former LAUSD Aide Claims District Fired Her After On-the-Job Injury

LOS ANGELES – A longtime Los Angeles Unified (LAUSD) special education aide says she was tackled while trying to intervene in a student dispute, later diagnosed with post-traumatic stress, and then fired while still on medical leave.

Now, the lawsuit over what happened next is headed toward a tentative resolution.

Claudia Carolina Palacios, who worked for LAUSD for more than two decades, reached a tentative settlement with the district this week after suing over alleged discrimination, retaliation, failure to provide reasonable accommodations, and failure to prevent discrimination, harassment, or retaliation…
