American Legion Post 7 in Gainesville hosts National Commander

The Paul E. Bolding Post 7 American Legion in Gainesville hosted the National Commander of the American Legion on Saturday, April 25, alongside the Department of Georgia Commander and the District Commander.

Dan Wiley, the American Legion National Commander, said he visits posts across the country to hear the concerns of local veterans.

“It is important that we do that to hear what’s going on at the local level to hear the concerns of our veterans,” Wiley said. “It is also important for us to be able to talk about the mission we have at the national level, specifically our mission to reduce veteran suicide through our ‘Be the One Program’ which is available at betheone.org, and so it’s important here to get to the grassroots level, as we testify in front of Washington.”

This visit marks the second time the National Commander has visited Post 7 in its 106-year history…
