Seattle mayor signs $480M library levy proposal, doubling amount sought from taxpayers

SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson has signed off on a proposed library levy that would more than double the amount sought from taxpayers, sending the measure to voters in August.

The proposal would replace an expiring 2019 library levy worth $219 million. If approved by voters, the new levy would last seven years and total $480 million.
