PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Though the day is starting with clouds, we are expecting sunshine to dominate the day, starting well before lunchtime. Temperatures stay just a bit below normal, with highs in the lower-70s this afternoon.
The evening hours are going to be beautiful for stargazing as mostly clear skies hang on through midnight. After that, clouds are going to roll in and eventually, we will have some light, spotty showers. It’s going to be a chilly morning, with lows in the upper-40s. The chance of rain is 25% and less than 0.10 of an inch is expected.
Skies become partly cloudy later in the morning on Tuesday, and highs will be unseasonably cool, in the upper-60s.
A storm system is forecast to sweep across North Carolina on Wednesday, bringing an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms. At this point, the risk of severe weather is rather low, at MARGINAL, across central and eastern North Carolina.
