PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — After some lingering cloud cover the first half of the day Sunday, skies were able to clear into the afternoon with temperatures remaining much cooler than normal. We’ll see mostly clear skies this evening with a few clouds lingering in the overnight hours. Temperatures will drop into the mid-40s to start Monday and afternoon highs climb into the low 70s with mostly sunny skies.
Clouds return on Tuesday with the potential for showers in the morning. The line of showers will likely fall apart as they move from west to east which means those in the mountains and foothills have a slightly better chance for rain than the rest of the Piedmont Triad. Temperatures will remain cool with morning lows in the upper 40s and highs in the upper 60s.
Our next best chance for rainfall arrives on Wednesday with a low-pressure system. Rain is most likely during the first half of the day. Rainfall totals from Tuesday to Wednesday look to be around 0.5″. The chance for rain Wednesday is 60%. Temperatures continue to be cooler than normal with lows in the mid 50s and highs in the low 70s…
