Former Hoboken Assemblyman Carmelo Garcia’s federal bribery sentencing has been delayed until June 3rd, according to the public court docket for his case.
” … The Court, having received a request for adjournment, hereby reschedules the sentencing date for 6/3/2026 at 11:00 AM in Newark – Courtroom 4A before Judge Madeline Cox Arleo,” U.S. District Court Judge decided on April 24th.
The day prior, defense attorney Robert Stahl – counsel for Garcia in the matter – wrote a letter to the court indicating that a May 14th sentencing date would not work since he had already paid to attend the New Jersey State Bar Association conference in Atlantic City.
The conference is from May 13th through 15th, and while the government and defense both said they were available on May 18th or May 26th, Cox Arleo set the sentencing date for June 3rd…
