‘Yasser is not a criminal to us’: Leaders speak after teen’s release from ICE

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee state lawmaker and other community leaders voiced their concerns on Monday after the release of the Memphis high school student, Yasser Lopez Soza, who was in an ICE detention center for two months.

Tennessee State Rep. Gabby Salinas joined Soza’s lawyer and April Bobo, CEO of the Memphis Business Academy (MBA), the school Yasser attends.
