AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Amarillo College announced it will host “Heart & Mind: Discover Your Path in Teaching and the Liberal Arts,” on Monday, aimed at helping high school students explore careers in education and liberal arts fields.
The showcase is set to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday in Dutton Hall on the Washington Street AC Campus, according to organizers.
As described by AC, the experience is set to invite students to take the first step toward their futures by connecting with faculty, exploring academic programs, and learning about the range of career opportunities available through degrees in education and the liberal arts. This type of event is part of AC’s work to help students identify pathways to meaningful careers and continued education, said AC representatives.

“Events like Heart & Mind give students a meaningful opportunity to explore how their passions can translate into impactful careers,” said Stephen Crandall, dean of liberal arts at Amarillo College. “Whether they feel called to teaching or the broader liberal arts, we want them to see that these pathways are not only relevant, but essential to building strong communities and shaping the future.”…
