TxDOT to break ground on Loop 360 project at RM 2222

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Transportation will break ground this week on a major overhaul of the Loop 360 corridor at Courtyard Drive and RM 2222, a project officials said will improve safety and reduce congestion in west Austin.

The $68.4 million project will construct an underpass at Courtyard Drive, eliminating the traffic signal on the Loop 360 main lanes. Plans also include building a diverging diamond interchange at RM 2222 and adding bicycle and pedestrian improvements too.

Funding for the project comes from TxDOT and the city of Austin’s 2016 Mobility Bond…
