SHIOCTON, Wis. — The water is receding across Wisconsin, but the damage remains.
Shiocton was one of the hardest hit by historic floods. Village Police Chief Sara Knapp estimated nearly half of the 400 homes in the village were evacuated last week as the wolf river reached record levels.
“We flood every year,” said Knapp. “We tell everybody, but it usually just comes over the banks a couple of feet. Never, never this bad.”…
