SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The head of the Missouri Route 66 Centennial Commission said now is the time to travel the Mother Road.
Cora Scott said the centennial year is a chance to slow down, get off phones, and really see America again — especially as more young people hit the road to camp and connect along Route 66.
“I think now is a better time than ever to really reflect, get out into the countryside, see America, meet new people face to face, get off of our phones,” Scott said. “You know, young people are starting to get into vans and go camping along Route 66 — meeting new people — being outdoors. I think that it’s always had that kind of allure to get outside of your own bubble and enjoy people.”…
