I’ve lived in Salt Lake City for a while and recently found a west side gem called Nico’s Restaurant that I’ve driven past dozens of times.
- Welcome to Taco Tuesday, where we highlight some of Salt Lake’s best taquerias.
State of play: The tiny Mexican restaurant on North Temple features a large menu of staples like burritos, quesadillas and breakfast dishes.
What I tried: One of my gripes with taquerias is that proteins aren’t well seasoned, but that’s not the case at Nico’s.
- I ordered a filling taco plate that came with four street tacos (asada and al pastor), rice, beans, and a side of chips and salsa.
- The housemade horchata is some of the best I’ve ever had in the city.
- Nico’s is also affordable, with many entrees between $12-$18.
By the numbers: With nearly 1,500 reviews…..
