Husband whose wife was hit in Medina Square calls for immediate safety measures

MEDINA, Ohio — A Medina man whose wife was seriously injured in two separate crashes near Public Square is calling on city leaders to make immediate safety improvements, even as officials begin a broader review of the area.

Stan Scheetz told City Council on Monday that simple, low-cost changes could help prevent additional accidents while the city awaits the results of the comprehensive traffic study that is expected to take months.

“It seems to me we could spend some money on paint and repaint all of those crosswalks and they could be enhanced with hash marks across them to make them much more visible both for people walking across the street and for traffic approaching them,” Scheetz said…
