Boston woman accused of picking lock, breaking into Canton apartment after two earlier break-ins

CANTON — On Friday, April 25, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Canton police responded to a residence on Washington Street after receiving a report that a woman had broken into an apartment.

According to Canton Police Chief Michael K. Daniels, when officers arrived on scene, they located the woman inside the apartment and identified her as Jailah Latrea Bates-Harrison, 31, of Roxbury Crossing.

A preliminary investigation found that Bates-Harrison picked the lock and entered the apartment, even though she didn’t have permission to stay there. Chief Daniels said she also allegedly “threatened violence” against the resident on a previous day…
