Fentanyl, meth trafficking case in West Virginia, drug kingpin sentenced to over 2 decades in prison

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WTRF) — A Detroit man has been sentenced to more than 22 years in federal prison for leading a drug trafficking operation that distributed methamphetamine and fentanyl in North Central West Virginia.

Emmitt Renand Richardson, 53, was sentenced to 275 months in prison after a federal jury convicted him in September 2025 on multiple methamphetamine and fentanyl charges.

Federal prosecutors said Richardson led a drug operation in Harrison County for nearly a year, using residences in Clarksburg and street-level sales to distribute narcotics…
