2 extracted from vehicles after multi-vehicle crash on Staten Island | Shaina on the Scene

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y — Emergency responders rescued two people from mangled vehicles following a serious crash at a busy Staten Island intersection Tuesday.

The FDNY received a call at approximately 2:18 p.m. reporting a vehicle accident at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Locust Avenue, New Dorp. First responders arrived to find two severely damaged vehicles — a Nissan Rogue SUV and a GMC Sierra pickup truck — with people trapped inside.

They were extracted from vehicles and transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to the FDNY report. The condition of the two individuals has not been released.

The damage to both vehicles was extensive and neither was drivable following the collision…
