DA seeks to revoke bond of Istrouma High student, citing violations and mall shooting questions

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office is asking a judge to revoke the bond of Marcus Washington, the Istrouma High School student arrested after a gun discharged inside a classroom.

According to a Monday filing, prosecutors also seek detailed monitoring records. They are investigating possible violations and his whereabouts during the Mall of Louisiana shooting.

Washington was arrested in February after a firearm discharged inside a classroom at Istrouma High School. The filing said that surveillance video captured him leaving the classroom with a gun. Later, the gun was found in a school bathroom…
