DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa State University seeks to close 10 degree programs and merge 13 others that it said have low numbers of enrollment.
Those recommendations came out of a review of 47 programs — 35 graduate programs with fewer than 10 students and 12 undergraduate programs with fewer than 25 students pursuing a major. Last Thursday, it submitted its recommendations to the Board of Regents.
The university said it’s holding off on four undergraduate programs and 14 graduate programs “to more fully assess student demand and workforce needs.” Those programs will be up for review again in two years…
