Bossier City offers free summer shooting sports for youth

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Bossier Sheriff’s Office announced its annual free Summer Shooting Sports Program for 2026, designed for boys and girls aged 10 to 15.

The program kicks off in June and offers a unique opportunity for young participants to engage in target BB rifle shooting, archery, and shotgun training, all while ensuring safety and education through the Louisiana Hunter’s Education Certification.

This year’s event runs from June 1 through July 21, with sessions held on select days throughout the summer. Each two-day camp runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and takes place at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office Shooting Sports Range in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. There is a maximum of 16 students per session…
