DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Students at Bethlehem Central High School are leading a fundraising effort to transform a campus space into a tribute for a beloved teacher who passed away last year.
For more than 37 years, Michèle Atallah, known to students as Madame Atallah, taught French at Bethlehem High School, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students.
“Everyone will tell you that she was the nicest person. She cared the most. It truly felt like she was our family. And I think that’s you know, that’s what made it so hard when she passed,” said Maxim Kuperman, BCHS Senior and courtyard project co-leader.
