Hendersonsonville City Council sees final roundabout design before project starts

At its April 22 meeting, Hendersonville City Council got a look at the final design of a roundabout that the North Carolina Department of Transportation will build at South King Street and South Main Street in October.

Hunter Marks of Watermark Landscape Design had previously presented the design to Council in the fall 2024 but said he was doing so one last time before he submits the plans to NCDOT.

The project will retain flag poles, flags and shrubs on HonorAir Park, which is north of the roundabout’s location. The new design will have a granite wall with a “Welcome to Hendersonville” sign, as well as plaza seating. The City will be responsible for landscaping in the park, Marks said…
