Bullitt County jailer candidate on ‘do not rehire list’ running to lead jail

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A candidate for Bullitt County jailer was placed on the jail’s “do not rehire list” after his resignation a year ago because of an incident with junk tires.

Dewey McMillen, a former deputy jailer now running for jailer, resigned days after the incident for medical reasons. According to a letter documenting the incident, the jail’s chief deputy believes he resigned once an investigation into the incident was opened.
