CHICAGO (WGN) — As Shirley Adams neared her 80th birthday, her family made the difficult decision to move her to a nursing home.

“We needed the extra care because of my work and my sister’s work,” said Shirley’s son, Leslie Adams. “And there was no one else there to care for her.”
