Family, friends honor life of 21-year-old killed in work zone crash

TULSA, Okla. – Family and friends gathered Tuesday night to honor the life of 21-year-old Javier Gardea, who was killed last week while working in a construction zone near Interstate 44 and Highway 75. Loved ones say Javier will be remembered for his work ethic, his love of soccer and the family he was preparing to build.

He played soccer at Tulsa’s East Central High School, and they retired his jersey.
