COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) – Two state lawmakers, Representatives Phil Plummer and Tom Young, are pushing for an overhaul of Ohio’s child protection laws with the introduction of House Bill 635.
The bill would address breakdowns in communication between children’s services, county agencies, and law enforcement, which they say led to the murder of Hershall Creachbaum.
“If you’re getting that many calls, somebody needs to wake up and follow up on these calls,” said Plummer. “We need to take the extra step. All professions—we have multiple calls on child abuse, neglect—take the extra step. It’s not that difficult.”…
