Owner cuts the ribbon on new Erie Co. Courthouse cafe Taste and See

After being closed for almost four years, the courthouse cafe at the Erie County Courthouse finally reopened, and this time with a new restaurant in operation. Krystal Robinson cut the ribbon on Taste and See Courthouse Cafe, which is now open on weekdays from 8 am to 2 pm.

Erie County Executive Christina Vogel told us that relaunching the courthouse cafe was a high priority for her after so many people requested its comeback. “More than any other issue that was brought up during the campaign, it was, we miss having the cafe there, people that were in juries, people that worked at the courthouse,” Vogel said. “The tables and chairs and the equipment was already here; it was really not difficult to put all of the pieces back together and just get someone back in here,” she said, explaining how smooth the reopening was.

Although Vogel reasoned that it was an easy process, it did take several months. Interested restaurateurs had to submit a request for proposals, attend meetings and even serve samples, and out of all applicants, Taste and See, owned by Krystal Robinson, was selected to take on the cafe.

“We have literally taken fruits and veggies and made them mouth-watering, appetite-satisfying, Robinson said, describing their menu. Taste and See is known for their smoothies, wraps and other healthy food options and Robinson hopes that she can make healthy food more accessible…
