Harrisburg City Council approves police pay raise, retention efforts amid departures

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Harrisburg City Council has approved a new compensation plan aimed at helping the city hire and keep police officers, as the department has lost its officers to other agencies.

Council passed Resolution No. 35 of 2026 unanimously, approving a new wage scale that includes a 7% salary increase for police officers for the next three years.
