CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A Cumberland County business is speaking out after being mistakenly pulled into an online debate over a proposed data center.
Ashcombe Farm and Greenhouses say confusion began earlier this week when a social media post claimed the business was selling land for a data center. According to the owners, that claim quickly gained traction and led to calls for a boycott.
“On Monday, I believe that someone online shared Ashcombe was selling land for a data center and attached our name to it,” Kerri Laudig, a co-owner of the business, said. “It very quickly blew up, something we couldn’t ignore as it got more and more traction.”…
