SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The California Highway Patrol ended its 24-hour enforcement period on Wednesday morning, which resulted in over a thousand citations issued in San Diego County.
The enforcement period began at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and lasted until 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber, there were 1,023 total citations in San Diego County within this time frame.

Of the 1,023, a majority of citations were issued for speeding, including 17 cited for driving more than 100 miles per hour, Grieshaber said. There were 17 arrests related to driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol…
