SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – The Southport Police Department (SPD) has announced ongoing law enforcement training in downtown today.
According to SPD, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is conducting K9 training exercises in the downtown Southport area on Wednesday, April 29.
SPD said the public may see an increased law enforcement presence throughout the day, including:
- Officers and K9 units actively training
- Bloodhounds tracking in public areas
- Marked and unmarked law enforcement vehicles
Residents are free to watch the training, but cannot pet or distract the K9 while they work…
