The Pass Christian High School (PCHS) FCCLA team recently earned the opportunity to compete at the state level in the Personal Finance Challenge Championship on Tuesday, April 7, held at the Mississippi Public Broadcasting Studios in Jackson, Mississippi.
The competition featured two rigorous rounds, beginning with a comprehensive Personal Finance Test followed by a Case Study Presentation. The top two teams from these rounds advanced to a final Quiz Bowl to determine the state champion. This structure challenged students to apply their financial knowledge while demonstrating critical thinking, teamwork, and presentation skills.
Representing PCHS were students Avalyn Bryan, Jaylin Bryan, and Paige Ladner, who competed as one of only 12 teams in the High School Division statewide. Although the team did not advance to the final Quiz Bowl round, their accomplishment in qualifying for the championship is a significant achievement. Each team member was recognized with certificates and medals for their performance and dedication.
The experience provided valuable real-world learning as students engaged in financial problem-solving and decision-making scenarios. Team members shared their enthusiasm for the competition and expressed excitement about returning next year with even more experience…
