WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Four years ago Wednesday, a violent force of nature tore through Andover, destroying or heavily damaging dozens of homes and businesses, including the community’s YMCA.
The EF-3 tornado touched down in Sedgwick County and was on the ground for about 21 minutes, covering just under 13 miles. The tornado had a maximum width of 440 yards and earned its rating with a recorded wind speed of 155 mph.
While there was widespread damage throughout Andover, there were only three reported injuries and no fatalities…
