The 5th Annual Rhythm on the River will feature Grammy Award winners The Travelin’ McCourys on its mainstage May 2 at Dolly Cooper Park in Powdersville.
The quintet features McCoury brothers Ronnie on mandolin and Rob on banjo, who started playing in their father’s Del McCoury Band in the 1980s. The band also features fiddler Jason Carter, bassist Alan Bartram and guitarist Cody Kilby.
“The Traveling McCourys deliver more than just a high-energy show and incredible musicianship. They also represent what makes our community festival special: families,” said Johnny Harvin, chair of Connect Powdersville, the event’s nonprofit organizer. “Having this particular band on our mainstage is a ‘big get’ for us.
