Four Montclair educators have filed an appeal with the New Jersey Department of Education, alleging the Montclair Public School District violated tenure laws when it conducted a reduction in force in October. They also allege the district rehired nine curriculum support teachers without regard to seniority.
“The issue for us is not trying to save our jobs. It’s about saving others, doing things in the right processes, and making sure that we are following the law,” said Dr. Lisa Rollins, one of the petitioners.
