Wilmington Police have arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with a series of commercial burglaries on the city’s West Side.
Police said investigators were in the area of 4th and Jackson Streets at approximately 3:00 a.m. on April 29 as part of an ongoing investigation into burglaries affecting businesses west of I-95. Officers were then made aware of an attempted burglary that had just occurred in the 1000 block of West 4th Street.
The investigation led detectives to a vacant residence in the 1000 block of Read Street, where they located 50-year-old Jimmie Hayes. Police said Hayes, who police say was wanted on multiple unrelated matters in several jurisdictions, was taken into custody without incident…
