Longhorns just laid it all on the line to slow Texas A&M’s recruiting momentum

Texas A&M football has long been considered the leader for the nation’s top cornerback, John Meredith out of North Crowley. The insiders have all favored the maroon and white for quite some time in this important race for a player who has spent quite a bit of time ranked as the nation’s top overall player.

However, the complexion of this recruitment just changed in a big way. Though the Aggies were considered the team to beat for quite a while, Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegleman of Rivals have shifted their predictions to the Texas Longhorns to land Meredith ahead of his official visit to Austin, currently scheduled for June 5.

The Aggies are still also on Meredith’s calendar as the final visit for the five-star cornerback, but this is a disheartening sight to see— and it no doubt comes as a response by the Longhorns to the momentum that the Aggies are building in this current class.
