JENKS, Okla. (KTUL) — Drivers who use U.S. Highway 75 over Polecat Creek near Jenks are facing another delay in a bridge rehabilitation project that carries about 59,000 vehicles a day, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
ODOT said crews discovered additional deterioration after removing the bridge deck, forcing a redesign and a pause while new materials are ordered.
“When the bridge deck was removed crews and engineers discovered some of the steel was a little bit more deteriorated than we had thought. We had to redesign some additional plans, the contractor needed to order parts for those changes, so far for the delay that we’ve had this time around, we’re about two or three weeks,” ODOT said…
